Just starting out here

Hello All,

I am just starting out here, to see if this is a hobby I wish to pursue. I am an Electrical Engineer, and have always been a Science dude, so I am more than tech savvy.

I see most of the viewing parties are private events. Does one have to attend a number of Public events first to get to know people? or what is the procedure?

Shawn,
The best thing I can suggest is to attend a PAS meeting. We have them the first Thursday night of the month at 7 pm at Paradise Valley Community College in their library. We don't have them in the summer, but we should have the next one September 2nd. Check the calendar to make sure. You can meet the members and we can let you know when the next star party will be that you can attend. There is no charge for attending the meeting or the star party. Then, if you want to become a member, there is a small annual fee. I believe the next public star party will be September 16th on a Thursday night at PVCC, but again, check the calendar.
