Everyone Welcome

CANCELED EVENT DUE TO WEATHER!

Bring a chair, your own snacks and drinks.
We will be set up in the parking lot closest
to the SR 51 foot bridge.

There should be no Moon in the way to view the Meteor Shower.
Bring binoculars if you wish.

The park closes at 10pm. The best viewing of the Meteor
Shower will be around midnight, however, during our
event, you can view other objects and in between seeing
some cool planets, nebula, galaxies, watch
for meteors and help count them with us.

Chairs or blankets are suggested for sitting on, and since this
is the end of November, please consider dressing warmly.

I suggest you do not set up in the grass, as it is all full of ants.
Stay on the concrete with us or you will be doing the "Ants up
the pants leg" dance that we have done previously when doing
an event at this location.

PV Park is located at 17642 N 40TH St, Phoenix, AZ 85032

PV Park star party

Here's the forecast as of Friday 1pm
from Weather Underground, for this
event on Saturday 6pm to 10pm at PV Park.

Partly cloudy. Lows 46 to 54. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph in the evening becoming southeast around 5 mph after midnight.
Rain predicted at 10%
Cloud Cover 48%
Winds at 5mph
The Winds are the only part we can handle. The rest looks like we will be canceling the event. Don't CANCEL yet. We will make a decision later today.

Please post your Weather updates in this forum or send them to me via email. Thanks.

Don writes: I see very cloudy skies, 75% at 6pm, "clearing" to 45 by 7pm. Winds are not bad at 6 with gusts of 9. I don't see any rain.

My comments: This isn't looking good.
If all are in favor of canceling this event, I believe, by 3pm we will make the decision
and do so.

And Eric adds: Accuweather Pro also shows 45% cloud cover. Temps in the 50’s; Winds 5 G8 (MPH). Before 1900 cloud cover may be as high as 78%. No precip. predicted.

CANCELED EVENT!
