More details can be read about in the PAS Forums at this link:

The Public calls with their RSVP and asks these same questions almost every time.... so, i present the answers here.
1) This event is open to everyone. Come take a look through our high powered telescopes.
2) This event has the ability to be wheel chair friendly. However, you might not be able to see through a scope that is looking at an object closer to the horizon, if you can not stand up from your wheel chair for some of the taller scopes.
3) This event also starts when it gets dark enough to see something in the night sky, and ends at 9:30. The public does not have to attend at the start of the event, but they do have to leave at the end of the event. Come and go as you please.
Additional notes: I highly recommend that you look through each telescope at least 2 times during the evening, as the telescope operators will be moving to new objects as new objects become availble and the previous objects disappear from view.

PAS members are setting up 10-14 telescopes for your viewing pleasure. Please help us keep these events Admission FREE by following these rules.
a) Please NO White light in the observing area. If your phone rings, take the call away from the observing deck so that your white like will not affect other attendees night vision.
b) Please DO NOT touch the telescopes.

PAS Members please RSVP your attendance below.
A minimum of 1 scope and 1 public RSVP will
keep this event happening. RSVP today!
Public RSVP is by Email to Events@pasaz.org. Please include number in your party. Thanks.

Update from BMC PVCC Feb 19:
This spring, PVCC at Black Mountain (Cave Creek location) will host the 7th annual STEAMtastic! The event uses an innovative, hands-on, approach to promoting science, technology, engineering, arts, and math education. The goal of the event is to make STEAM fun, by showing attendees how science, technology, engineering, arts, and math are a part of their everyday life. We hope to encourage students to further explore these fields and view STEAM careers as attainable. Event activities are intentionally selected to address the STEAM fields and make STEAM accessible to both volunteers, and community members of varied ages and backgrounds. Activities include a potato launcher, sow science, make a lung, molecular gastronomy, subzero science, a glow in the dark room, and much, much more. Once night falls, the event becomes a Star Party. The dark skies of Cave Creek provide the perfect opportunity for viewing numerous constellations. The Phoenix Astronomical society and PVCC Astronomy Faculty will provide telescopes and help you make the most of this opportunity to view the night sky. The Black Mountain campus also features a 14 inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. This telescope collects 3,136 times more light than the human eye, allowing viewers to explore the colors of the Orion Nebula and storms on Jupiter.
