Public Star Party at Black Mountain Campus
Whole event Time: 6pm to 9:30pm
Bring a Friend!
Bring the whole family.
Please RSVP with Terri to attend

[size="4"]As of Mar 7: PAS Members are currently monitoring the weather. A lot of clouds are in the forecast, so we will monitor a little longer before deciding on the Outdoor portion of this event which is the Star Party.
The star party portion of this event is NOW CANCELLED.

The indoor portion is happening and it is a STEAM event, so bring everyone you know and enjoy the indoor activites with BMC and PAS.

Indoor activities start at 6pm.
Outdoor star party begins 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

If there are 6+ scopes in attendance, I will do Treasure Hunt with the kids. But if we don't have enough scopes, I will only do Q&A. Either way, the kids can earn a prize for coming to see me at the PAS table when you arrive, and then again before you leave to pick up the prize.

Please provide in your RSVP the number in your party, plus the date and description of the event you are attending. PAS has RSVP's come in 2-3 months in advance. I can assume you mean the next possible star party, or you can make sure I know which event you wish to RSVP for. Thank you.

Public attendance... RSVP's for public attendance can be emailed to Terri at Please include the date of the event and name of the event you wish to attend and the number in your party.
An auto response will be returned to you with an update about the event. The auto response will start going out on Friday Oct 27, with info about the weather and if the event is happening or canceled due to weather. It is highly recommended you RSVP through email to get this notice.

Activities may include:

* Mike, Meteorites Man - come touch and feel real meteorites.
* Viewing through our telescopes: Jupiter, Orion Nebula, Mars
* $5 Off Membership Drive

PVCC Black Mountain
34250 N. 60th Street
Scottsdale, AZ 85266

More details can be read about in the PAS Forums:

The Public calls with their RSVP and asks these same questions almost every time.... so, i present the answers here.
1) This event is open to everyone. Come take a look through our high powered telescopes.
2) This event has the ability to be wheel chair friendly. However, you might not be able to see through a scope that is looking at an object closer to the horizon, if you can not stand up from your wheel chair for some of the scopes.
3) This event also starts when it gets dark enough to see something in the night sky, and ends at 9:45. The public does not have to attend at the start of the event, but they do have to leave at the end of the event. Come and go as you please.
Additional notes: I highly recommend that you look through each telescope at least 2 times during the evening, as the telescope operators will be moving to new objects as new objects become availble and the previous objects disappear from view.

PAS members are setting up 10-14 telescopes for your viewing pleasure. Please help us keep these events Admission FREE by following these rules.
a) Please NO White light in the observing area. If your phone rings, take the call away from the observing deck so that your white like will not affect other attendees night vision.
b) Please DO NOT touch the telescopes.

PAS Members please RSVP your attendance below.
A minimum of 1 scope and 1 public RSVP will
keep this event happening. RSVP today!
Public RSVP is by Email to Please include number in your party. Thanks.
