Fountain Hills Dark Sky Celebration
Celebrating Fountain Hills becoming the 17th IDA International Dark Sky Community in the world
Location: Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N La Montana Drive, Fountain Hills, AZ
Date: Saturday, April 21
Indoor events 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Outdoor events 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Free admission
Speakers at 4, 5, 6 and 7 in the CC Ballroom include Dr. Jeffrey Hall, Lowell Obs. Director, speaking on the Discovery Telescope, Ken Zoll, Archeoastronomy of the Verde Valley, Harun Mehmedinovic, BBC filmmaker, Dr. Pierre DeViche, impact of light pollution on nocturnal animals.
Photo contest, student art contest, live nocturnal animal display, kids activities at the River of Time Museum next door, Arizona Science Center Inflatable Planetarium (six shows)
Food trucks, craft beers for sale
