Free Telescope Workshop at PVCC Main Campus in G-147
Calendar: PAS Public Event Calendar
Event Posted By: Terri Finch
02-13-2020 07:00 PM to 09:30 PM
Location: PVCC G-147
Indoors and Outdoors
Time: 7pm to 9:30pm

If weather is wet, rainy, or windy, this event is canceled. Also, if no Telescope Teachers are available, this event is cancelled.

Update 2/12 at about 11am:
And the weather for Thursday Feb 13 is:
Clear skies, slight breeze
7pm 60 degrees
9:30pm will be 54 degrees
remember your jacket

Please note: RSVP for this event closes at end of day on Feb 12th.
If you miss the deadline to RSVP, do NOT just show up for the class.
Instead, please RSVP for the next class on:
Apr 9:

Come learn how to use your telescope in a lit room, in G-147
and then go outdoors to the Telescope dome and set up and use your scope in the evening hours, too.

RSVP is Required to be sure there is a Telescope Teacher available to assist you. RSVP your attendance below or by emailing Events@PASAZ.ORG
1) Please include the make and model number of your telescope & the number in your party.
2) If you are attending to find out what telescope to purchase, let me know, when you RSVP.
3) When you RSVP, please include the date or location of the telescope workshop you wish to attend. We sometimes hold several workshops a month. And Seating is limited in all workshop locations.

After you RSVP, if you need to cancel your attendance, please be courteous and drop Terri another Email to say you can not attend. The Telescope Team waits up to 30 minutes before the end of the event, before we give up on an RSVP and go home. If you can let us know ahead of time you are not making it to your class, this info is very appreciated.

A question I keep getting about these telescope workshops:
Will a telescope be provided if we donít already have one?
NO. This class has 2 purposes....
1) Teach you how to use and enjoy the telescope you already own.
2) Advise of what telescope fits your needs, and help you find a good deal/sale on the purchase of your new telescope - this is advice only.

This event is FREE & Open to the Public.
Bring the whole family.

No Public RSVP's or bad weather can and most of the time, will cancel this event.
Feb 7 update: We have 2 class member RSVP's thus far. For this reason, this event is happening.
However, as of this morning, I see rain predicted for Thursday. Rain can cancel this event. Make sure you RSVP so you know if the event has
become cancelled.
And a 3rd thing to note that can cancel this event is the lack of Telescope Teachers attending. Currently we have 1 telescope teacher. I'd like to have 1 telescope teacher per attending telescope needing help.

Everyone attending - Telescope Instructors and
Students, please RSVP

Volunteers needed indoors and outdoors for this event.

Instruction can be 1 on 1 or take advantage of
several instructors as that way you get a better
idea of how to work your telescope.

Telescope Teachers: Please RSVP below.

PAS holds up to 1 Free Telescope Workshop per month and not every month. If you can not attend this one, please RSVP to attend the next one. See this list for upcoming FREE Telescope Workshops:
