Free Telescope Workshop at Bookmans in Phoenix

The Phoenix Astronomical Society presents & hosts at Bookman's -
A FREE TELESCOPE WORKSHOP

THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF TELESCOPE TEACHERS AND NO PUBLIC RSVP'S.

From 3:30pm to 5:30pm
PAS will be in the front window of the store to your right as you walk in, at the Phoenix Bookman's to assist you in learning how to use you telescope by daylight.

RSVP is required Events@pasaz.org.
1) Attending with a telescope - RSVP make and model of telescope & Number in your party.
2) Attending to find out what scope to purchase - RSVP with number in your party.
I need this data to make sure we have seats for the attendees.

RSVP is required by NOON on the day of this event if you are attending to find out how to enjoy your telescope. Why? Because I need time to find a telescopes teacher who can assist you with the model of YOUR telescope.
If you are attending to find out which telescope to purchase, drop me an RSVP and then come to the event. Include the number in your party, please.

More details at this link (everyone should read before attending in case
there is a change in plans for this event)

Bring: Your scope, accessories, and Questions and something to take notes on and with.

Weather Permitting: This event is indoors. However, if it is raining, the event will be canceled. We do not wish for you to bring your scope into Bookman's through the rain. Rain is no good for your scope.

PAS Provides: Answers, one on one instruction, and handouts helping you learn about your scope.
We also help you find your FIRST SCOPE, should you have no clue what to purchase. It is an Advice session only. We have nothing to purchase at this event.

RSVP is required below by email, in this calendar.. This ensures we have enough seats for everyone attending.

Everyone, of any age, is welcome to attend this event.
Your family can attend. While you enjoy the class, your family can browse Bookmans Entertainment Exchange. There are more than just BOOKS at Bookmans!

RSVP is open on this site until NOON the day of the event.
Afterward, you will have to call in your RSVP to Terri at Events@pasaz.org. If you RSVP and it is AFTER NOON, there may not be a seat availble for you.

Come learn how to use your telescope and get the most out of it!

WHAT IS A TELESCOPE WORKSHOP AT BOOKMAN'S?

We call it the Bookman's Telescope Workshop because PAS Is hosting this event at Bookman's Entertainment Exchange at 19th Ave and Northern.

This is an indoor event. Thus, only extreme weather will cancel the event, or if we do not have any Telescope Teachers RSVP'd to attend this event.

This is a laid back, informal instruction, usually 1 on 1, designed to give you advice on how to use your telescope by daylight. We can check your collimation, if needed. We can also advise on eyepieces, we can let you know
some objects your scope will be able to see, we can provide informational handouts (help yourself to the whole table of handouts), and some star charts to get you started.

Bring with you: Your telescope, eyepieces, accessories, books, charts, anything you have for your scope that you might want to discuss its use with the PAS Telescope Teachers.

What if you don't have a telescope yet?
Come discuss scopes, their uses, the forte's, their weaknesses, the sizes, the goals you may have with your future scope... and we will help you decide which one to buy based on the discussion.
Then before you buy, attend several star parties, and ask questions, view through others scopes of the style telescope you are thinking about purchasing, learn what you need to know to make a good choice in your first telescope purchase.

After this telescope workshop, if you want outdoor, evening instruction, come to the Thursday Telescope Workshop at PVCC. This is the only event you can go to to get one on one outdoor, help in finding your first object, assistance. RSVP today!

Everyone attending needs to RSVP
. No public RSVP's could cancel this event.
