ASU West Map

The new map for the ASU West campus has arrived.
I am posting it in this location:
http://www.pasaz.org/forums/download...do=file&id=174

Please note, due to the construction around the helicopter landing area, we can not set up there, for this event. Once construction is done, we may consider going back to that area. Join us at this event. And all future ones at this location, until future notice.

Hi Terri,

Just a very quick note. I haven't made the flier yet, but the open house is still on for March 15th. Beware! The Ides of March!
What has changed, however, is the location. The old one on the west side is no longer suitable. So, we will relocate to the far northeast side. I've attached a new map (but it is not online yet).

More later. Cheers!

Set up & Parking info update:

Paul writes:

There is a parking turnaround next to the observing area. This turnaround is NOT shown on the map. The set up area is an open field, with no paving. :( There is a slight rise of a few feet between parking and set up, but the observing area itself is flat. Considering all the construction on the other side of campus, this new location may become the usual spot for future astronomy nights.

Have a great weekend!

whole family for a great night of viewing.

Weather for tonight looks good.
Here's what Weather Underground says:

5mph winds - that's ok
no rain - that's great
5% clouds - that's great

Looks like we are doing the event tonight.
See everyone over there!

ASU West Open House / Public Star Party Apr 18, 2013

ASU West Open House / Public Star Party Apr 18, 2013
Event time is 7:30 to 9:30.
Telescope Set up is 6:30pm.

Details about this event are as follows:

East side of campus, up on the dirt hill.
Park in the parking lot, walk up the hill. No
vehicles that do not have telescopes for the event,
will be allowed up the hill.

Red Filtered flashlights only, please.
We have some awesome planets to view on this evening
and we need the dark to stay dark.
That means if you are bringing your cell phone, please
turn it away from the scope area to look at it during this event.
The white light from your phone is too bright to have at this event.

Here is the flier for this year's event.

PAS Members,
The public is RSVP'ing with Paul.
But, I would like to know how many
PAS members are attending, so that when
we get there, we know how far to space our scopes
and fit them all up on top of the hill.
So, drop me an email, please Events@pasaz.org
if you are planning to assist at this awesome event!
Thanks so much. We will see you there.
