Default PAS/PVCC Indoor/Outdoor Astronomy Event 10/23

PAS INDOOR/OUTDOOR ASTRONOMY EVENT ON 10/23
Location: PVCC campus - G-147 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Public Invited - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm looking for volunteers to help out at this event.

For the indoor portion, we can use more than just Chet and I doing hands on activities. Mike will most likely be there as well with his Meteorites. If you wish to share some astronomy info with the public, please RSVP in the calendar in 10/23 and in your RSVP mention what you will be doing.

Volunteers do not need to be ONLY PAS members. Anyone can help out at this event. We had Dennis Young help us one year. That was exciting!

For the outdoor portion, if you plan to attend with a telescope, please RSVp in the calendar section with that info as well. This will greatly help me set up this event easier. Thank you so very much. Set up is 7pm.

Your input and volunteering is always appreciated. This is a twice a year event and we do wish to continue it. Please volunteer today!

Check out this year's line up of demos, as the calendar is updated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

PUBLIC Event is from 7:30 to 9:30

Please RSVP with Terri by phone or email to let us know how many are planning to attend the event. For the indoor portion, we provide handouts and interesting pamphlets having to do with astronomy. I would like to make sure we have enough for everyone attending.

Past handouts have included:
Club info
Info on astronomy related places such as Orion, Sky & Tele, Celestron, etc.
Take home star charts
prizes for participation

plus hands on activities such as:
moon phases
Planet positions
Meteorites
Demos on various astronomy topics
Computer simulations
The demise of the dinosaurs

This is a fun, educational, and free event. Bring the whole family!
Remember to RSVP your attendance with a head count.
