Default PAS General Monthly meetings Sept - May

PAS Meetings are the meeting in which we have a guest speaker, usually professional, come talk to the members in a lecture setting. We usually hold this meeting (September through May) in the Library at PVCC, but sometimes, due to certain situations, we may choose to use G-147 as our venue for that evening. Please note which room we are in, as if it isn't listed, then it is the Library by default.

These meetings are open to EVERYONE! Bring a friend! All ages welcome.

Our Guest Speaker list can be found at this link, which takes you to the document that is updated as more speaker info is known.
http://www.pasaz.org/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=8

We meet at 7pm for set up of the event and a half hour of socializing and collecting of announcements, snacking, etc.

The meeting opens at 7:30 with a few brief announcements and then we try to turn the floor over to the speaker no later than 7:45pm.

PAS does not use this meeting time for PAS Business discussions. If you are looking to attend the workings, the organization, the set up of events and other Business issues, we hold a separate meeting on the last Thursday of the month, in G-147, called the Meeting of the Minds. It is open to everyone who wishes to learn more about PAS. No children at the business meeting, please.

The guest speaker has the schedule of doing their presentation until 9pm with 10 minutes for Q & A. The Library closes at 9pm, and so by 9:30 they are literally throwing us out.

If we are in G-147, we may stay to 10pm, if needed. Some guest speakers are known for longer presentations, and thus we might be in G-147 for those special speakers.

Another reason we would be in G-147 is if the school is closed due to holidays, or break, during the time in which we would be holding our meetings, or if there is food involved. The Library doesn't mind us doing a small amount of snacks and bottled water, but for our Year End Pizza party, they would rather not have us in the Library, so we hold that meeting in G-147.

Speaking of Pizza party:

Each May, it was decided that PAS would cover the cost of providing Pizza to the attending PAS members, to celebrate another successful year with PAS. Here is the rules about the pizza.

1) PAS Members and Guests need to RSVP their slices of pizza.
2) The order of pizza is based on 2 slices per person. Please only take your
two reserved slices of pizza until 8pm.
3) If there is a large turnout for this meeting, please only take one bottle of water so that everyone may have one.
4) Pizza will try to arrive by 7pm, so be there in time if you want it hot. Plates and napkins will be provided, please use them and clean up after yourself.
5) Extra Snacks are welcome. If you wish to bring a snack to share, everyone will appreciate it.
6) PAS is covering the bill for the pizza, however, if you feel generous or have some spare change on you, you may wish to donate to the snack fund, from which some of the pizza cost will be covered from. Thanks for your donations.
7) It was decided that the pizza will be available from 7pm to 8pm for those who RSVP'd to have some. If you did not get a chance to RSVP your 2 slices of pizza, please wait until 8pm when the pizza then becomes Free for the taking. A sign will be posted about this at the pizza location. Those who RSVP'd their pizza are going to be expecting 2 slices. And the pizza we order will be 2 slices for each RSVP, plus 1 extra pizza to be sure we have enough to cover everyone. So, at 8pm, if you are still craving more pizza, you may then help yourself to another slice.

Thank you for your honesty and patience while everyone grabs their 2 slices of pizza.

Default May 7 2014 PAS Meeting

May 7 2014 PAS Meeting

Due to the Guest Speaker not being able to come to our meeting, on our usual meeting day of the first Thursday of the month, we have moved the May meeting to a Wednesday night, just for this one meeting.

Through an email discussion, it was decided to move the Yearly PAS Elections that normally fall on the May meeting, to the Awards Cereomoy held yearly in April. The Awards Cereomony is a closed, PAS Members only event. It is a celebration of the previous year's accomplishments, activities, events, and fun things PAS Members did. All PAS Members are asked to attend the Awards Ceremony. And the Elections of the Officers will be held at this event startring on April 24, 2014.

The details you need for the May 7th PAS Meeting, such as where on the PVCC campus the meeting is being held, can be found in the PAS Calendar for May 7, or use this link to get that info.

We hope to have a huge turnout. The PAS Meeting is open to everyone and the Guest Speaker for May 7, 2014 will be awesome! He always is.

Prior to the Meeting, a few PAS Members will be doing dinner with the guest speaker. Watch in this forum or in the PAS Calendar for this date, as to where we are meeting for dinner. Everyone is welcome to join us at dinner. It is preferred that you RSVP your attendance by the day before the meeting, so we can get the dinner location to put together enough tables and chairs for all who wish to attend.

See you at this special meeting.
Time: 7pm to 10pm

Here's the Calendar Link with the meeting info: http://www.pasaz.org/forums/calendar...3&day=2014-5-7
