Cool Wide-eyed Rookie following the planets

An amazing night last evening. Dodging clouds all night I was able to see Mercury for the first time for the few minutes it was out just after dusk below the crescent Moon just over the western horizon. Awesome

Then a night of finding things including the ESKIMO Nebula and really great views of Jupiter.

Went to bed on the couch at 1:00…Got back up at 5:00. Got my first real look at Mars and then …ta dah!!!…SATURN…amazing!

As I type, Venus is coming up and outshines everyone….

All this from my Southwest-facing backyard.

I am hooked…. Thanks for listening, but, as you guys know, most people wouldn't "get it". Time for a nap.
