Public
Star Party |
|
|
For non-profit
organizations, schools, church groups, scout troops,
service clubs, etc., we will provide an outside observing
session (aka "Star Party") using our many
high-powered telescopes and other fine instruments. We
will show you views through our scopes highlighting the
celestial wonders visible that evening. Exactly what will
be visible depends on the time and date, so only after we
receive your application can we tell you what your show
will include. Be aware there is a high demand for these
programs. You should schedule at least a few weeks
in advance if you want to secure a specific date. There
is no charge for this service which we provide in the
spirit of education. We will, however, gratefully accept
your tax-deductible donations and provide a receipt for
same. PAS is a non-profit 501(3)(c) corporation
registered in the state of Arizona. Our tax ID number is:
86-0472770. |

Private
Star Party |
|
|
For
all other organizations, or for private events, we provide the same
services as for a public Star Party (see above). As a birthday gift,
this is a truly memorable experience. A typical evening of viewing
starts about 30 minutes before sunset (to include Solar viewing) and
ends 2-3 hours later. Based on the number of people in attendance, we
will make recommendations regarding the event duration and number of
telescopes needed to ensure all participants have sufficient time at
the eyepiece to enjoy the views. The fee is $115.00 per telescope with
a 2 scope minimum + $25.00 processing fee, for a $255.00 base fee.

Multimedia
Presentation |
|
|
Often coupled with an
outside observing session as backup in case of inclement
weather, these educational presentations are also
available as stand-alone events. They can take the form
of 35 mm slide shows, digitally projected multimedia
spectaculars, or even a hands-on "show &
tell." Tell us what you have in mind, and we can
probably come up with exactly what you're looking for.
Fees are waived for non-profit organizations. For all
others, the fee is $50/hour with a one hour minimum. |

Personal
Instruction |
|
|
So you got a new
telescope and can't figure out how to use it? We can
help. Of course, what we'd really like you to do is
JOIN our society, where you can not
only learn how to use that scope, but receive a host of
other benefits as well. However, if you want to be a lone
astronomer, we can teach you what you need to know in a
one-on-one personal instruction session. The members who
provide this service are experienced amateurs with years
of observation and instrument troubleshooting behind
them. They are friendly, patient, and will work with you
at your site as long as you need them. The fee is
$30/hour with a one hour minimum. |
The fee is explained in the Booking Document.
Download the 3 page Booking Document and Application in PDF or MS Word
format and contact us for more details. We do not
accept credit cards. Payment is by cash, check, or money order
made
